The Creative Edge: Understanding the Business of Film & TV
An 8-Week Strategic Training Series for Creatives
Partnered with NITV + CMF Changing Narratives
In 2025, Susan designed and taught this customized course for Nunavut Independent Television Network (NITV), with support from the Canada Media Fund’s Changing Narratives initiative.
The program gave emerging and Indigenous creators across Canada a practical overview of the international business of content – including distribution, rights, deal structuring, market access, and strategic planning
We hired Susan to facilitate the NITV Changing Narratives workshops (distribution focus) in 2025. These workshops, funded by CMF, supported Inuit and Indigenous film & TV producers looking to build skills in national and international distribution.
Susan led all 8 sessions and provided a valuable learning opportunity for everyone involved. It was a delight to work with her — she did a fantastic job sharing her expertise with the participants. 5 stars!” – Cecilia Greyson, Communications Director & Project Facilitator, NITV.
Strategy Consulting: MIPCOM & International Partnerships
In 2024, Susan worked with U.S. factual producer Colby Gaines on international strategy, development positioning, and MIPCOM market prep. Their collaboration focused on creative alignment, growth strategy, and forging key partnerships for global unscripted formats.
“Business is the who-you-know business – and Susan knows everyone… or will! She’s an amazing connector who helped us expand our international contacts, and a hilarious hang. Top-tier creative mind.”
